DGTL Lab was on the ground in Budva to document Montenegro’s spectacular Statehood Day celebrations. Tasked with capturing both the deep-rooted cultural heritage and the electrifying energy of the event, we provided comprehensive, multi-camera photo and video coverage. From the ceremonial, traditional sounds of Gradska muzika Budva to the emotionally charged ballads that united generations under the night sky, our team delivered a cinematic visual story of a nation celebrating its pride.
Behind the project
Filming a national holiday in a bustling coastal hub like Budva requires a production setup that is both grand in scale and intimately focused on human emotion. The Statehood Day celebration was a highly dynamic blend of solemn tradition and high-octane musical performances, and our mission was to translate that unique, open-air atmosphere into a powerful digital format.
Our DGTL Lab crew navigated massive festival crowds and shifting coastal lighting to ensure absolutely no moment was missed. We balanced wide, cinematic drone sweeps of the glowing Budva coastline and the roaring audience with tight, emotive shots of the performers dominating the stage. Capturing the elegant, brass-heavy opening of Gradska muzika Budva and the powerful, generation-spanning ballads that followed required flawless low-light expertise and agile camera work. By seamlessly weaving together the profound cultural significance of the holiday with the raw, explosive energy of a massive outdoor concert, we crafted a visually stunning tribute that perfectly immortalizes the night.
